Vance Doubles Down On Kamala Harris
On Thursday, Republican Vice Presidential nominee Senator J.D. Vance sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris during his visit to the U.S. southern border. Vance highlighted that Harris’ border policies have disproportionately harmed the most vulnerable Americans.
The criticism came right after former President Donald Trump’s engaging speech at the National Association of Black Journalists convention. Vance used this momentum to shift the campaign’s focus back to a crucial issue: securing the southern border, a topic that resonates with many Americans.Vance condemned the media for their role in enabling the current administration’s failures, urging them to “tell the truth” about the severe repercussions of an open border. He pointed out the human cost of the situation, noting that local schools are overwhelmed by an influx of migrant students, making it harder for American children to learn. Additionally, he mentioned that hospitals are experiencing extended wait times because of the increased demand from illegal immigrants.According to Vance, the disorder at the southern border and its negative impact on American institutions are direct results of the actions taken by Harris and President Joe Biden. “From day one, they halted deportations, stopped the border wall construction, reinstated catch and release policies, and eliminated the ‘Remain in Mexico’ program,” Vance said.He emphasized that he and Trump plan to reinstate the successful policies from the Trump administration, including deportations and completing the border wall. “It’s astonishing how much chaos we’re allowing at the southern border due to Kamala Harris’ inaction,” Vance stated. “As the so-called border czar, Harris was supposed to oversee these critical functions, but she has been ineffective.”During his visit, Vance engaged with local residents and law enforcement, who expressed their frustration and called for strong leadership from Biden and Harris. Yet, Vance lamented that their designated border czar has largely ignored these appeals for help.
