Lawmakers Growing Concerned About Biden

On Sunday, former Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross raised a critical point regarding President Joe Biden’s capability to both run for re-election and effectively serve as President. According to The Hill, Ross questioned whether Biden’s ability to lead a campaign might reflect on his overall fitness for his current role in the White House.

Ross, in an interview with John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable,” expressed concerns about Biden’s health. “If he isn’t well enough to run a campaign, how can he be fit to continue his duties as president?” Ross pondered. This remark underscores growing skepticism about Biden’s stamina and capability to handle the demands of the presidency.

During the discussion, Catsimatidis probed Ross on who might be effectively running the Oval Office if Biden’s health is indeed compromised. Ross suggested that the administration’s operations are increasingly managed by staff members rather than Biden himself. He recalled instances where Biden would reference his staff’s restrictions on his public statements, indicating that these aides are playing a significant role in shaping the administration’s agenda. “You saw in press conferences where Biden would say, ‘My staff won’t let me discuss this,’ or ‘My staff prefers I not say that,'” Ross noted. This implies that Biden’s staff might be steering significant portions of presidential activity.

Adding to the scrutiny, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, has issued subpoenas to key White House personnel. Comer is seeking information from Jill Biden’s aide Anthony Bernal, Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, and Senior Adviser Ashley Williams, alleging that they are involved in efforts to obscure the president’s deteriorating cognitive health.

In response to these concerns, the White House recently sought to address and minimize speculation about Biden’s health. A letter was circulated to explain the presence of Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s disease, at the White House. Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, clarified that Dr. Cannard’s visits are part of his longstanding role at the White House and attributed his presence to his extensive expertise in neurology, which includes a broad range of medical issues. This explanation aims to reassure the public about the nature and scope of Biden’s medical care.
