Kamala Trying To Distance Herself From Biden
By choosing not to give President Joe Biden a prominent speaking role at the Democratic National Convention, Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be making a deliberate effort to distance herself from the administration’s faltering policies, according to Matt Schlapp’s comments on Newsmax.
Biden, who many believe might have faced significant pressure to step aside after a lackluster debate performance against Donald Trump last month, is scheduled to speak on the opening day of the convention in Chicago. In contrast, in previous election cycles, sitting President Barack Obama was given the spotlight as the keynote speaker on the third day of the convention in both 2016 and 2020. Obama is set to speak again this year on Tuesday, showcasing the typical prominence given to the sitting president at these events.
Schlapp, the chair of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), criticized the Democrats’ strategy. He asserted that Kamala Harris’s attempt to separate herself from Biden is a futile effort. “Remember, for the Democrats, it’s all about maintaining power rather than adhering to any moral principles,” Schlapp remarked on “The Chris Salcedo Show.” He emphasized that despite Harris’s attempts to distance herself, she was deeply involved in every significant decision made during Biden’s presidency. “She was supposedly ‘the last person in the room’ for every major decision, so she is just as accountable for the administration’s failures,” Schlapp stated.
He highlighted several issues contributing to the administration’s declining popularity, including the controversial open border policy, unsatisfactory economic strategies, and ongoing military engagements across two continents. Schlapp also pointed out the negative global perception of America’s current state and criticized Harris for her past assurances about Biden’s mental sharpness, suggesting that she would face repercussions for those claims.
In Schlapp’s view, Harris’s attempt to disassociate from Biden’s administration is unlikely to succeed and fails to address the core issues troubling the nation.
