Obama Family Voting For Trump?

Now this is very interesting.

Abon’go Malik Obama, Barack Obama’s half-brother, has once again made headlines with his endorsement of Donald Trump for the upcoming November election. In a recent update on X, Malik Obama affirmed, “I’m Malik Obama. I am a registered Republican and I will be voting for Donald Trump.”

Malik Obama, originally from Kenya and now a U.S. citizen, has consistently supported Trump in past elections. His backing of Trump is notable as it contrasts sharply with the current Democratic front-runner, V.P. Kamala Harris, who was reportedly promoted to the very top of the Democrat ticket with support from Barack Obama.

In a 2016 conversation, Malik Obama expressed admiration for Trump’s unfiltered communication style, a trait he values. Malik, who shares a father with Barack Obama— who passed away in 1982—has voiced strong criticism of his half-brother’s presidency. He has also taken issue with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information, which he believes contributed to his disillusionment with the Democratic Party.

Malik Obama has long been a proponent of Trump’s vision for America. He has praised Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan and even had the chance to meet Trump in person during the 2016 presidential debates. By 2020, Malik was adamant in his support, declaring himself “More than 100% still on Trump’s side” and expressing skepticism about President Biden’s health and capabilities.

Malik continues to live in Maryland, where he is registered to vote, and has spent much of his career as an accountant in the Washington, D.C., area. Despite his professional and personal ties to the U.S., his political stance reflects a significant departure from his brother’s policies.

The relationship between the Obama half-brothers has been marked by tension, partly due to Malik’s attempts to launch the Barack H. Obama Foundation, which faced legal issues for failing to properly register and misrepresenting its tax-exempt status. Malik’s conservative views on social issues, such as same-sex marriage and abortion, also play a role in his alignment with the Republican Party.

His social media presence highlights a range of controversial opinions, including support for Trump’s policies and provocative claims. Malik’s endorsement of Trump, along with his praise for figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., underscores his continued divergence from his brother’s political legacy as the 2024 election approaches.
