NBA Star Loses It Over Trump Attack

Trump Derangement Syndrome is clearly real.

Former NBA player Rex Chapman recently called on the media to shift their focus from a reported assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump to a pressing issue in Springfield, Ohio. Chapman argued that the Springfield situation, which has generated considerable controversy, deserves more attention.

Springfield has become a focal point of national discussion due to viral rumors alleging that pets have been stolen and eaten—a claim that local officials have firmly denied. These allegations have sparked broader debates about the impact of a significant influx of Haitian migrants in the area. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Springfield, a town with a population of around 58,000, has seen approximately 20,000 new Haitian residents. This dramatic increase has led to concerns among locals about rising crime rates, increased disorder, and a surge in car accidents.

The media’s coverage of Springfield’s issues comes at a time when national attention has been captured by an alleged assassination attempt on former President Trump. On Sunday, a 58-year-old man named Ryan Wesley Routh was apprehended after allegedly aiming an AK-47 at Trump while the former president was playing golf in Florida. Secret Service agents intervened, firing at Routh when they saw the weapon’s muzzle through a fence. Authorities are treating the incident as a serious assassination attempt.

Chapman took to social media platform X, urging journalists to prioritize the Springfield story over the golf course incident. “Media – please go to Springfield and cover the story there,” Chapman posted. “Not the one on the golf course in Florida. We’re watching.” He also condemned political violence in general, emphasizing that such acts, whether targeting Trump or inspiring threats against schools and hospitals, are unacceptable.

Trump responded to the Florida incident by reassuring his supporters. In a statement, he confirmed his safety and vowed to remain undeterred by the events. “There were gunshots in my area, but before news start spiraling out of control, I wanted America to hear this first: I’M SAFE AND DOING WELL! Nothing will stop me. I will NEVER SURRENDER.”
