George Conway Says Trump Is Doomed?
In a recent discussion on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki,” conservative attorney George Conway claimed that former President Donald Trump’s campaign is undergoing what he described as the “ultimate implosion.” This statement came in the wake of a debate widely perceived as a victory for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Conway expressed his belief that Trump’s campaign situation is deteriorating rapidly, stating, “We are witnessing the ultimate implosion in real-time, and it’s only going to get worse.” He criticized Trump for his connections to Laura Loomer, who has faced backlash for making racist remarks about Harris and was present at the debate with Trump. While Trump has publicly disavowed Loomer’s comments and denied her any official role within his campaign, Conway suggested that Loomer’s influence over Trump is substantial, implying that she is feeding him a distorted sense of validation.
Recent polling reflects a shift in favor of Harris following the debate, with some surveys indicating a decline in Trump’s support. States like North Carolina and Georgia, previously considered solidly Republican, are now being regarded as competitive battlegrounds. Conway argues that these changes signal a failure of Trump’s campaign strategies, suggesting that his usual tactics are no longer effective.
Conway also criticized Trump’s reaction to a Taylor Swift endorsement of Harris. Trump’s response, a vitriolic post on Truth Social where he declared, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” was seen by Conway as a sign of the former president’s frustration and erratic behavior. Additionally, Conway pointed to Trump’s propagation of false claims about Haitian migrants as further evidence of a campaign in disarray, which led to serious repercussions, including threats and school evacuations in Springfield, Ohio.
In Conway’s view, Trump’s campaign is struggling with a credibility crisis, exacerbated by his and his allies’ reliance on fabricated stories. Conway concluded that Trump’s plight is not merely a political challenge but a desperate bid to avoid legal consequences. In response, Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, dismissed Conway’s comments, attributing them to what he called “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” and accused Conway of being out of touch with reality.
