Kamala’s 2024 Run Failing

Kamala just can’t gain support.

Recent polling data reveals that Democrats are experiencing a significant decline in their support among Latino voters, a trend that could reshape the political landscape in the upcoming election. Under the leadership of Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic advantage has dwindled to its lowest point in four presidential election cycles. Currently, Harris holds a 14-point lead over former President Donald Trump among this vital demographic, garnering 54% support compared to Trump’s 40%, with 6% of Latino voters still undecided.

This modest showing contrasts sharply with previous elections where Democrats enjoyed substantial leads: a 33-point advantage in 2020, a 38-point lead in 2016, and a staggering 44-point margin in 2012. The shifting sentiment among Latino voters is a cause for concern for Democrats, especially as Trump has been making notable inroads with this group, which represents the largest racial or ethnic minority in the United States.

While the poll indicates that Latino voters still prefer Democrats to control Congress, the margin has narrowed to 54% for Democrats and 42% for Republicans. This decline mirrors broader trends seen in other polls, highlighting a potential shift in the political allegiances of Latino voters.

On specific issues, Latinos show a strong preference for Harris on topics such as humane immigration treatment and abortion, yet Trump leads on economic matters, inflation, and border security. Interestingly, a significant 62% of Latino voters now believe that immigration is beneficial for the country, marking the highest level of skepticism towards immigration in two decades.

The most striking shift is among Latino men, who are now split evenly between the two parties at 47% each, a drastic change from 2020. Latina women continue to support Democrats but are also showing increased openness to Republican viewpoints.

As both Trump and Harris prepare for upcoming town halls targeting Latino voters, it’s clear that the Republican Party has a unique opportunity to capitalize on these shifting dynamics. The potential for growth among Latino voters could prove pivotal in the election, making it essential for Republicans to articulate clear policies that resonate with this diverse and influential group.
