At a recent rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump passionately addressed the crowd, promising a revival of the state’s oil and gas industry. He declared that local workers will soon be “fracking, drilling, pumping, and producing like never before.”
Trump sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her repeated calls to ban fracking, arguing that such policies are detrimental to Pennsylvania’s economic prosperity. “She’s starving your state of wealth,” he said, highlighting Harris’s push for electric vehicles. “Her extreme electric vehicle mandate insists everyone switch to electric cars, but many people aren’t ready for that transition.”
He further asserted that the majority of electric vehicles are manufactured overseas, particularly in China, which raises concerns about job security and economic stability in the U.S. Trump pointed out that many American workers, including Teamsters and autoworkers, have shown strong support for him, emphasizing the disconnect between the current administration’s policies and the needs of American families.
“The electric vehicle mandate could cripple Pennsylvania’s economy,” Trump warned, “by phasing out gas-powered cars and undermining your fossil fuel industry. With all that energy wealth right beneath you, the policies in place are shortchanging your future.”
He pledged that if reelected, he would work swiftly to lower energy prices by 50%, asserting that achieving energy independence was possible and necessary. “Just four years ago, we were on the path to energy dominance,” he remarked. “Today, we’ve lost that ground. We could have been producing three to four times more energy than we are now.”
Moreover, Trump took aim at Harris’s proposed tax increases, calling them “communist” and labeling her as the “tax queen.” He criticized the idea of a wealth confiscation tax based on unrealized capital gains, stating that it unfairly targets business owners and hardworking citizens. “This election is different; we have someone bragging about raising your taxes,” he concluded, urging voters to consider the implications of such policies for their families and future.
