Trump’s words have sparked major controversy.
In a recent interview, former President Trump articulated his concerns about the internal threats he believes could undermine his presidency if he is elected again. He emphasized that the dangers posed by internal enemies are, in his view, more significant than external threats from nations like China or Russia.
Trump stated, “We face two kinds of enemies: those outside our borders and those within. The internal threat is far more dangerous.” He pointed specifically to figures like Adam Schiff, whom he referred to as “Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff.” Trump accused Schiff of endangering national security with baseless accusations of collusion between his 2016 campaign and Russia, which he argued stemmed from a narrative created to explain Hillary Clinton’s electoral loss.
Schiff’s actions, including leading the charge for Trump’s first impeachment, have drawn Trump’s ire. He recalled how the narrative of Russian interference was used as an excuse for Clinton’s defeat, suggesting that the Democrats and their allies in the media concocted a story to divert attention from their shortcomings.
The former president also took aim at mainstream media, describing the handling of Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent interview with CBS News as “the greatest scandal in broadcast history.” Trump criticized CBS for allegedly editing out Harris’s less-than-competent responses, claiming they manipulated the content to present her in a more favorable light. He stated, “If they did this multiple times, they should lose their license.”
As he positions himself for a potential return to the White House, Trump is determined to root out what he sees as a treacherous bureaucratic class that threatens American values and national integrity. His focus remains on rallying support from Republicans who share his concerns about accountability and transparency within government, echoing a broader call to combat the “enemy from within.”
