On Sunday, the Harris campaign will embark on a significant outreach effort in key battleground states as part of the “Souls to the Polls” initiative. This campaign is focused on engaging Black voters through their churches and religious communities, aiming to boost turnout in the upcoming election.

Vice President Kamala Harris will participate in services at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Georgia, where she is expected to deliver inspiring remarks. Following this, she will attend an event at Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, Georgia. The campaign is also incorporating star power, with music legend Stevie Wonder set to perform and speak at Divine Faith Ministries right before Harris arrives, adding a dynamic element to the gathering.

Later that day, Harris will sit down for an interview with Rev. Al Sharpton, which will be featured on MSNBC, further extending her outreach to voters. Simultaneously, her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will engage with attendees at Victorious Believers Ministries in Saginaw, Michigan, highlighting the campaign’s commitment to faith-based engagement.

This initiative comes at a pivotal moment, as early voting is already underway in critical states such as Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Arizona. The Harris campaign is working to mobilize Black voters and persuade those who are still undecided as they prepare for a showdown against former President Trump in November.

According to a recent poll by The New York Times and Siena College, 78 percent of Black voters indicate they would support Harris, while 15 percent back Trump. This represents a notable decline from 2020, when President Biden received 90 percent of the Black vote. The Harris campaign is determined to secure and expand its support in this evolving political landscape.
