It’s about time Melania starts speaking up.
Melania Trump has recently pointed out that former President Barack Obama’s administration actively tried to make things difficult for her husband, Donald Trump, during his first term in office. In a candid interview on Fox & Friends, the incoming First Lady reflected on the challenges she and her husband faced when they first entered the White House, noting that key information was deliberately withheld from them by the Obama administration.
“The first time was difficult,” Melania explained. “We didn’t have all the information we needed, and it wasn’t just about logistics—it was the lack of cooperation from the outgoing administration.” She made it clear that this time around, with Obama out of the picture, she feels more confident and better prepared for the upcoming transition.
Having gained experience over the past four years, Melania is ready for a smoother transition to the White House this time. “I have all the plans, the furniture is selected, and I know the process,” she said, emphasizing how different things are now. She expressed optimism for the next four years, stating, “I believe we will accomplish a lot and work to restore this country to greatness.”
During her remarks, Melania also spoke about the challenges she faced during her husband’s first term, particularly with the way many underestimated her role. “I think people didn’t really understand me, or they didn’t accept me as a person,” she said, adding that some saw her as merely the “wife of the president.” But Melania was quick to point out that she’s an independent woman with her own thoughts, ideas, and decisions. “I stand on my own two feet,” she asserted.
In a striking contrast, former First Lady Michelle Obama has chosen to skip President Trump’s second inauguration. While Michelle has frequently criticized Trump, particularly his wealth, behavior toward women, and stance on minorities, she has also refrained from attending the inauguration, unlike many other former first families. Though Michelle did not give a specific reason for her absence, it’s clear that her relationship with the Trump family remains strained, despite former President Obama’s cordial interactions with Trump at recent events.
While Obama’s absence from the inauguration may garner attention, Melania’s focused, poised approach as the incoming First Lady shows that the Trump administration is ready for a fresh start and prepared to get to work restoring the country’s strength and prosperity.
