Democrats will not be happy about this major win for Trump!
On Monday, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard threw her support behind former President Donald Trump during an event organized by the National Guard Association in Michigan, a critical battleground state. Gabbard, who previously ran for president in 2020 and served in the Army National Guard, highlighted the significance of her endorsement on the somber anniversary of the tragic Kabul airport bombing three years ago, which claimed the lives of 13 American service members.
Gabbard, who switched her allegiance from the Democratic Party in 2022, expressed her deep concerns about the current administration’s foreign policy. “Our nation is entangled in numerous conflicts, and we are perilously close to nuclear confrontation,” she said. “These are among the key reasons I am dedicated to supporting President Trump’s return to the White House. He has the leadership qualities necessary to restore stability and security.”
In her critique of the current administration, Gabbard pointed out her frustrations with what she perceives as an “elitist cabal of warmongers” within the Democratic Party, which she accused of being driven by “cowardly wokeness.” Since leaving the party, Gabbard has been actively campaigning alongside Republicans and has been particularly vocal about her support for Trump’s approach to foreign policy.
During her endorsement, Gabbard emphasized Trump’s track record of pursuing diplomacy first. “President Trump demonstrated the courage expected from a Commander in Chief by exhausting all diplomatic avenues and engaging with adversaries, allies, and partners in the quest for peace. He viewed war as a last resort,” she asserted. Gabbard criticized the current administration for its handling of national security and accused it of undermining civil liberties and weaponizing governmental institutions against political opponents.
The endorsement event in Detroit followed a poignant wreath-laying ceremony earlier in the day at Arlington Cemetery, where Trump and Gabbard honored the fallen heroes of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Trump, addressing rally attendees, underscored the disastrous outcome of the withdrawal. “We were supposed to leave with dignity and strength,” he said. “Instead, we relinquished everything.”
