Does America Need Kamala Harris?

Republicans Called Out For Attending DNC

Last week’s Democratic National Convention saw several Republicans voicing their critiques of former President Donald Trump, with some attributing this to what Sen. Tom Cotton calls “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” According to Cotton, this phenomenon is a testament to the intense opposition Trump faces from his critics.

Reflecting on Trump’s presidency, Cotton emphasized that his tenure was marked by stability and economic success. “During Donald Trump’s time in office, Americans enjoyed both peace and prosperity,” Cotton remarked on ABC News’ “This Week.” He contrasted this with the current administration, noting that under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, conditions have markedly deteriorated. “The past four years have seen a sharp decline in our nation’s well-being, and that’s a clear distinction we should all recognize.”

Cotton also pointed out the rarity of cross-party endorsements in elections, highlighting the notable endorsement of Trump by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “The fact that a Kennedy has endorsed a Republican is indicative of how far the Democratic Party has shifted under Kamala Harris,” he said, underscoring the radicalization of the party.

Regarding the upcoming election, Cotton noted that Trump and his campaign have been preparing for a tight race. “President Trump has been actively campaigning for months, and as the election draws nearer, his efforts will only intensify,” he explained. Cotton believes Trump will starkly contrast his policies with those of Harris, emphasizing that the vice president’s track record and campaign promises paint her as a “dangerous San Francisco liberal.”

Cotton also called out Harris for her shifting positions on issues like Medicare for All and immigration. “Harris needs to address her evolving stance on these critical issues,” he said. “If she has had such a significant change in her views over the past five years, she owes the American people a clear explanation.”

Additionally, Cotton rejected claims that Trump has altered his position on a national abortion law. “Kamala Harris is the only candidate proposing a national abortion law, one that would mandate taxpayer funding for abortions up to the moment of birth,” he asserted. “We need to be clear about what each candidate stands for, especially on such vital issues.”
