Trump Gets Another Major Endorsement
The National Border Patrol Council made headlines this past Sunday when they officially endorsed former President Donald Trump during a rally in Arizona. This endorsement reflects a longstanding relationship between the union and Trump’s firm stance on border security and immigration reform.
At the rally, Border Patrol agent Paul Perez, who leads the union’s Local 3307, issued a stark warning to Americans: “If we allow Vice President Harris to take charge of our borders, every city and community in this great nation will face dire consequences.” This statement highlights the union’s concern over what they view as Harris’s ineffective approach to border security, a role she has often been inaccurately labeled as responsible for.
For years, the Border Patrol Council has championed Trump’s aggressive immigration policies, occasionally expressing support for bipartisan measures that Trump opposed. Despite this, their recent endorsement serves as a reminder of their commitment to what they believe are essential reforms.
On Monday, the Council reaffirmed their support, stating on X, “We strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States.” As the presidential race intensifies, immigration and border security remain pivotal issues, particularly in key battleground states like Arizona. Polls indicate that Trump holds an advantage over Harris, who is attempting to close the gap with her own proposals.
During a visit to the border in late September, Harris claimed she would endorse a revised bipartisan Senate border bill, previously rejected by Trump and other Republicans. “It was the strongest border security bill we have seen in decades,” she argued. However, the Border Patrol Council’s support for Trump underscores their skepticism about Harris’s plans.
As the election approaches, the border issue will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping voter sentiment, especially in swing states that will be critical in determining the outcome.
