Megyn Kelly Calls Out Taylor Swift

On Wednesday, commentator Megyn Kelly took aim at pop sensation Taylor Swift for her recent endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential race, calling Swift’s support “disgusting.”

Following the debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, Swift made a splash on Instagram, expressing her decision to back Harris. She emphasized her thorough review of both candidates’ policies and described Harris as “a steady-handed gifted leader.” Swift also highlighted her approval of Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, specifically praising his support for LGBTQ+ rights.

Kelly didn’t hold back in her response. “Goodbye to your Republican audience, Taylor. I hope you enjoyed their support while it lasted,” Kelly declared. She criticized Swift’s rationale for endorsing Harris, particularly focusing on Walz’s record. “I don’t care who gets upset. It’s outrageous. Swift can vote for Harris if she wants, but to cite Walz’s position on LGBTQ+ issues as a key reason? That’s unacceptable.”

Kelly condemned Walz’s executive order last year that established Minnesota as a “sanctuary state” for minors seeking gender-altering treatments. “This pair—Taylor and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce—represent the height of elitism,” Kelly argued. She took issue with Kelce’s endorsement deal with Pfizer, noting that he signed a $20 million contract to promote their COVID-19 products. “It’s disturbing to see them so disconnected from the real-world consequences of their endorsements,” Kelly added, referring to concerns about myocarditis linked to the vaccine.

Kelly concluded by portraying Swift and Kelce as out-of-touch celebrities who prioritize their wealth and fame over the impact of their actions on everyday people. “They’ll continue living their lavish lives, completely indifferent to the consequences of their public stances,” she said.
