Republican Bashes Trump’s Rhetoric?

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu recently expressed his thoughts on the political rhetoric surrounding the upcoming elections, particularly focusing on Vice President Kamala Harris’s approach. While he may not always agree with former President Donald Trump’s style, Sununu firmly believes that merely repeating Trump’s controversial statements won’t win over swing voters. Instead, he sees this tactic as ineffective and ultimately stale.

In a recent appearance on ABC News’ “This Week,” Sununu stated, “I’m not a fan of the profanity or personal attacks. I’m results-oriented when it comes to public service.” He highlighted that Harris’s strategy of echoing Trump’s words fails to resonate with the electorate. “They’ve heard it all before. The real question voters will ask is whether their lives are better today than they were four years ago.”

Sununu pointed out that swing voters are not defined by party lines; they can be independents, moderate Republicans, or even Democrats. These voters are primarily concerned with their everyday lives. Many are struggling to afford basic necessities, such as child care or a family meal out. “For some, the top priority is the open border situation. For others, it’s about making ends meet,” he noted.

The governor emphasized that voters are looking for tangible change and solutions to their challenges. Sununu argued that focusing on real issues—like the economy, immigration, and family welfare—will resonate more with voters than recycled criticisms of Trump. Ultimately, he believes that to win these crucial swing votes, candidates must address the everyday concerns of the American people rather than get bogged down in sensational rhetoric.
