Trump Chews Out Kamala
In a recent Fox News interview with Mark Levin, former President Donald Trump took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, particularly spotlighting her combative approach during the 2018 Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Trump criticized Harris for what he described as her extreme aggressiveness, emphasizing her relentless questioning of Kavanaugh, which he believes was marked by “viciousness and violence.”
Trump recalled Harris’s tenure as a prosecutor and her pointed questions to Kavanaugh about abortion rights. Notably, during the confirmation hearings, Harris asked Kavanaugh if he could identify any laws that give the government authority to make decisions about the male body. Kavanaugh’s response, “I’m not thinking of any right now,” did not satisfy Harris, who was probing Kavanaugh’s stance on reproductive rights, given his conservative record and later role in overturning Roe v. Wade.
Looking ahead to their upcoming debate on September 10, Trump expressed reservations about participating due to his dissatisfaction with the network hosting the event. Trump has criticized ABC News, accusing it of bias against him, and often disparages anchor George Stephanopoulos with nicknames like “George Flopadopoulos.” Trump is currently involved in a defamation lawsuit against ABC and Stephanopoulos related to comments about E. Jean Carroll, although a New York jury found him liable for sexual assault and battery but not rape.
Despite these concerns, Trump affirmed his commitment to the debate. He sees debating as a critical platform for conveying his positions and believes his strong performance in past debates contributed to his presidency.
Trump also took the opportunity to critique Harris on various policy issues. He highlighted her earlier support for banning fracking, a stance she has since modified, and criticized her handling of the migrant crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump argued that the border situation has deteriorated under Harris’s watch, leading to increased crime and exploitation.
Finally, Trump labeled Harris as “comrade Kamala,” accusing her of being a radical leftist whose policies, in his view, would be detrimental to the country. This character assessment aligns with Trump’s broader strategy of using nicknames and sharp rhetoric to frame his political opponents and the media in a negative light.
