Trump Announces New Administration Hire

Former President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to tackling immigration issues by announcing that Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will play a key role in a potential second Trump administration. During a recent interview on KFI radio in California, Trump emphasized Homan’s importance in his immigration strategy, stating, “You’ve seen Tom. He’s coming on board.”

Homan, who led ICE from 2017 to 2018, is known for his tough stance on illegal immigration, including advocating for policies that aimed to deter unlawful border crossings. His approach included measures that many conservatives believe are essential for restoring law and order at the southern border.

While some may find the discussion of a potential cabinet premature, Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steve Cheung, indicated that preparations are already underway. “President Trump has initiated a Trump-Vance transition leadership group to lay the groundwork for the next administration,” Cheung noted. He underscored that Trump will carefully select the best individuals for his cabinet, aiming to reverse the policies implemented by the current administration, which he described as harmful to the country.

Homan’s involvement is particularly noteworthy given his association with the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a controversial initiative that seeks to reinforce border security through aggressive enforcement measures, including mass arrests and deportations. Although the Trump campaign has distanced itself from some aspects of this project, Homan’s commitment to strong immigration enforcement remains unwavering. “If Trump comes back in January, I will run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen,” Homan declared at a recent National Conservatism Conference, promising a robust crackdown on illegal immigration.

At the Republican National Convention, Homan made headlines by declaring that millions of illegal immigrants should “start packing,” highlighting the urgent need for decisive action to secure America’s borders. As the Trump campaign gears up for the upcoming election, the focus on strong immigration policies remains a critical component of their platform, aiming to resonate with Republican voters who prioritize national security and law enforcement.
