Joe Rogan Running In Upcoming Election?

Could this actually happen?

Joe Rogan recently made it clear that he has no interest in running for political office, specifically for the position of governor of Texas, despite his massive platform and influence. During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan discussed politics in his usual no-nonsense style, offering a candid view on the state of American leadership. He stated bluntly, “I’m not running for nothing. I don’t want to do nothing. I don’t want to do a goddamn thing.”

For context, Rogan has a remarkable reach, with his podcast attracting an estimated 14.5 million listeners per episode and boasting over 19 million subscribers on YouTube. While his show covers everything from fitness to philosophy, his political opinions have been garnering more attention, especially after he publicly endorsed President Donald Trump in 2020 and attended Trump’s inauguration.

Rogan went on to explain why he believes most politicians enter the field: “They’re just actors who are ugly and want attention,” he said, suggesting that many politicians view public service as a way to gain notoriety, rather than a genuine desire to serve the public. This type of cynical outlook has earned Rogan a large following among those frustrated with traditional political figures.

He also expressed a disdain for the politics of D.C., calling it “a creepy and prostitutional business.” He elaborated, saying, “I would hate it. I don’t want to be a mayor, I don’t want to be a city councilman, I don’t want to be anything.” Rogan made it clear that his current career—hosting his wildly popular podcast—is the ideal job for him, one that lets him speak freely without the burdens of political responsibility.

In response to the notion that he might one day run for office, Rogan was adamant. “Why would I do that? I have the best job in the world,” he said, highlighting the freedoms he enjoys as a podcaster and the lack of personal accountability that comes with it.

Rogan’s disdain for politics doesn’t mean he is disinterested in the future of the country. However, he has made it clear that his involvement will stay focused on his role as a commentator, not a politician. For many, Rogan’s take on politics is refreshing—a critique of a system they see as deeply flawed, yet one he wants no part of.
