Kamala Tricks Senior Voters

Why doesn’t the mainstream media ever fact check Kamala?

Vice President Kamala Harris has recently made misleading claims about former President Donald Trump’s stance on Social Security, suggesting he intends to cut benefits when, in fact, Trump has consistently promised to protect and enhance these crucial programs. During her speeches in Charlotte and Greensboro, NC, Harris asserted that Trump plans to reduce funding for Social Security and Medicare, a notion that contradicts his clear promises.

Trump’s official campaign platform, ratified at the Republican National Convention, explicitly states his commitment to preserving Social Security and Medicare without cuts, including maintaining the current retirement age. Additionally, Trump has proposed eliminating taxes on Social Security benefits, a move that would effectively increase the value of these benefits for seniors. Although this proposal was not part of the formal party platform, it has been a frequent highlight of Trump’s campaign rhetoric.

The Vice President has not directly addressed Trump’s tax elimination proposal but has supported his other tax-related reforms, including those affecting tipped income. At a rally in York, Pennsylvania, Trump emphasized his plan to remove taxes on Social Security benefits, positioning it as a measure to counteract the adverse effects of inflation on seniors. Trump’s commitment to this proposal was a recurring theme in his August campaign stops across several states, where he criticized the current administration’s handling of inflation and its impact on retirees.

Despite these assurances, Harris and other Democrats have continued to push narratives of potential cuts, aiming to sway voters by capitalizing on fears surrounding Social Security. Furthermore, Harris has made other controversial claims, including linking Trump to “Project 2025,” a policy blueprint that Trump has explicitly disavowed.

In a recent debate, Trump clarified his position on abortion, rejecting calls for a national ban and emphasizing that such legislation is unlikely to reach his desk. Trump has also addressed concerns about political weaponization, criticizing the current administration for its alleged misuse of the Department of Justice and pledging to prosecute election law violations if re-elected.

As the election approaches, it’s crucial for voters to critically evaluate these claims and consider the facts of each candidate’s proposed policies.
