Kamala’s 2024 Run Doomed

You know things are bad when CNN can’t even make Democrats look good.

Recent CNN polling has highlighted a significant challenge for Vice President Kamala Harris in key battleground states, particularly among non-college-educated White men. This demographic’s overwhelming support for Donald Trump could pose serious issues for Harris’s campaign as we approach the election.

CNN’s Kate Bolduan pointed out that while Harris is showing some strength in Michigan and Wisconsin, Trump maintains a strong lead in Arizona. The race is incredibly tight in crucial battlegrounds such as Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, with both sides nearly even as the election draws near.

CNN’s political director, David Chalian, analyzed the impact of voter demographics, particularly focusing on race and education. He noted that non-college-educated White voters, a key base for Trump, are significantly leaning towards him. “This group shows strong support for Trump, which presents a clear challenge for Harris,” Chalian remarked. Additionally, Harris’s struggle extends to White college-educated voters in states like Georgia, where she is also underperforming.

In contrast, Harris is enjoying robust support from Black voters. In Michigan, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, she has secured about 85-86% of the Black vote. However, Chalian pointed out that this support falls short of the 92% that Joe Biden received from Black voters in Pennsylvania during the 2020 election. To win in competitive states like Georgia and Pennsylvania, Harris will need to solidify and expand her support within this demographic.

Chalian also highlighted a notable gender gap in the polls. Harris leads among female voters by substantial margins in states like Wisconsin and Michigan, but Trump holds a significant advantage among male voters, with an 18-point lead in Nevada and a 15-point lead in Pennsylvania. The outcome in these battleground states will likely hinge on which candidate can best leverage their gender-based support to sway undecided voters.

In summary, these polling trends reveal crucial insights for both campaigns. As the election approaches, the ability to address these demographic divides will be key to securing victory in these pivotal states.
