GOP Turns Up The Heat On ‘Hiding’ Kamala

In a recent interview with Newsmax, Matt Schlapp, Chair of the Conservative Political Action Conference, drew a stark contrast between the transparency of Elon Musk and Donald Trump and the evasiveness of Vice President Kamala Harris. Schlapp highlighted that while Trump and Musk engage openly with the media and the public, Harris has largely avoided answering questions since becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

According to Schlapp, the national media, which he claims is overwhelmingly biased against Trump, has been complicit in downplaying Harris’s lack of media engagement. “The media’s bias is so evident that they’re glossing over the fact that Kamala Harris is avoiding press interactions,” Schlapp remarked on “Newsline.” He added that Harris’s reluctance to address questions could be due to fear of making mistakes, suggesting that her campaign’s approach may stem from a lack of substance.

Schlapp criticized the mainstream media for artificially shaping Harris’s public image while her approval ratings as vice president have plummeted to some of the lowest levels seen since Spiro Agnew. “People need to push back and demand accountability from our leaders, regardless of their party affiliation,” Schlapp urged. “We have expectations in politics that include answering questions and participating in interviews. It’s not enough to present a scripted, Hollywood-style facade.”

Emphasizing the need for genuine engagement, Schlapp called for Harris to demonstrate real leadership. “It’s crucial for Harris to communicate her vision for the country and engage with voters in a meaningful way,” he said. “The American public deserves more than a pre-packaged image; they need to see real ideas and concrete plans.”

Schlapp’s comments underline a growing frustration among some conservative circles regarding what they see as a lack of transparency and accountability in the current political landscape.
