Democrats have another thing to cry about now.
Allison Huynh, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and former fundraiser for President Barack Obama, recently appeared on The Ingraham Angle to praise President Donald Trump for his hands-on approach to leadership, contrasting it with the inaction of the Biden administration. Huynh, once a key player in Obama’s 2008 campaign, has since shifted away from the Democratic Party and now supports Trump as an independent. Her change of heart highlights a broader shift among some former Democrats, especially in tech hubs like Silicon Valley, who are increasingly aligning with Trump’s agenda.
Huynh’s comments on Fox News highlighted the contrast between Trump’s decisive actions and President Biden’s delay in responding to disasters. She pointed to Trump’s visits to disaster-stricken areas of North Carolina and California as a prime example of presidential competency. “In just four days, Trump accomplished more than Biden did in four years,” Huynh remarked. She praised the president’s rapid response to the devastation from hurricanes in North Carolina and fires in California, noting how Trump flew directly to the affected areas, meeting with first responders and victims. By contrast, Huynh argued, Biden never even visited North Carolina in the wake of the hurricane.
In addition to his on-the-ground efforts, Trump has been quick to sign a series of executive orders aimed at addressing issues like immigration, energy policy, and economic recovery. Huynh specifically highlighted his order to reform FEMA, which had faced criticism for its slow response to recent disasters. Trump’s promise to overhaul or even eliminate FEMA altogether underscores his commitment to tackling bureaucratic inefficiency head-on.
Trump’s ability to take swift, decisive action contrasts sharply with the Biden administration’s perceived inaction, and it’s clear that many Americans, especially those who once supported Obama, are recognizing the difference. Huynh’s comments are just one example of how a growing number of independent voters are starting to see Trump’s leadership as the remedy to a struggling political system. The shift in allegiance could have significant implications for the 2024 election, especially as more former Democrats turn toward Trump’s message of strong leadership and real change.
