Trump-Hating General Changes His Tune

This was very interesting to see.

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, has undergone a remarkable transformation in his views about President Donald Trump. After previously labeling Trump as a “fascist to the core” and the “most dangerous person to this country,” Milley’s tone has shifted dramatically. In a recent appearance, he expressed confidence that America would thrive under Trump’s leadership, a stark contrast to the dire warnings he once gave.

Milley’s earlier criticisms, which included alarm over Trump’s potential threat to American democracy, seem to have been overshadowed by his more recent comments on the nation’s resilience. Speaking at a Pallas Foundation event, Milley reassured the public: “Bottom line is, breathe deep, America’s going to be okay.” He emphasized the strength of the United States, highlighting its 380 million people, strong institutions, and a capable workforce, including a promising younger generation ready to safeguard the nation.

In a further nod to the Trump administration’s potential, Milley discussed the Pentagon’s long history of reforms, noting that every incoming Secretary of Defense has aimed to “reform” the Department of Defense. However, he cautioned that meaningful change is a complex process, requiring leadership maturity and cooperation from both Congress and the White House.

Milley also addressed the role that Trump’s allies might play in the Pentagon’s future. While he acknowledged that outside figures like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy could offer valuable insights, he warned against attempts to tear down the Pentagon without a clear plan. “If you are planning to come in with a massive wrecking ball and just destroy things, then what you will get is just rubble,” he cautioned. “And rubble is not gonna protect the U.S.”

Milley’s comments reflect a growing acceptance that, while reforming the Pentagon is necessary, it must be done carefully and strategically—something that the Trump administration, with its focus on strong leadership, is poised to handle.
