Trump means business.
The Trump administration made it clear that any local leaders, including mayors, who attempt to obstruct mass deportation efforts could face legal consequences, including arrest. With illegal immigration surging, President Trump and his team are taking aggressive steps to secure the nation’s borders and protect American communities.
Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” to warn officials who try to shield illegal immigrants from deportation. He stressed that such actions could lead to “criminal jeopardy” for those violating the law. According to Miller, harboring illegal aliens, aiding in their smuggling, obstructing law enforcement, and conspiring to violate Americans’ rights are all serious crimes under U.S. law.
“The law is clear,” Miller said. “If any public official violates these criminal statutes, I expect the Department of Justice to act swiftly and in accordance with the law.” He also emphasized that no one, including illegal aliens and their protectors, is above the law.
Under the Trump administration’s leadership, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been ramping up operations to remove illegal immigrants, particularly those with criminal backgrounds. In just a 33-hour window, ICE agents arrested more than 460 illegal immigrants. These individuals were not just unlawfully in the country, but many had serious criminal histories, including charges for sexual assault, robbery, burglary, and drug trafficking.
Miller confirmed that ICE’s efforts are just beginning. “We’re targeting the worst of the worst,” he said. “These individuals represent the most significant threat to our communities.” With the backing of federal agencies like the FBI, ATF, DEA, and U.S. Marshals, ICE will continue to expand its enforcement actions to ensure that criminal networks, including drug cartels, are dismantled.
President Trump’s administration is sending a strong message to sanctuary cities, warning them that they will face increased federal enforcement if they continue to harbor criminal illegal immigrants. With the safety and sovereignty of the United States at stake, the Trump team is determined to restore law and order.
