It’s simply too late.
At a recent rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris after her request for another debate. With early voting already underway, Trump declared, “You snooze, you lose.”
Addressing his supporters, Trump emphasized that the time for debates has passed. “Harris had her opportunity with Fox News, but she turned it down. Now, she wants to jump into a debate with CNN just before the election because she’s falling behind in the polls,” he stated. The former president likened her situation to a boxer who, after getting knocked out, immediately asks for a rematch.
Trump pointed out that while Harris is seeking a late debate, he has already participated in two, stating, “I’d love to debate in many ways, but the voters are already out there casting their ballots. It’s simply too late.” He encouraged attendees to make their voices heard by voting, underscoring the urgency of the electoral process.
The former president also criticized Harris for wanting to debate only on terms favorable to her and on a liberal network. “She wants to create a narrative that can reverse the momentum of the Make America Great Again movement,” Trump argued. “While I appreciate the entertainment value of a debate, we have to focus on the real issues at hand.”
He expressed concerns about media fairness, particularly regarding CNN, suggesting that their previous debate with Biden had faced backlash from the radical left. “They were criticized for being too fair,” he claimed, adding, “Now, they’ll likely change their approach to protect Harris.”
Trump didn’t hold back when addressing Harris’s candidacy. “Remember, she didn’t win any primaries. She wasn’t even elected; she was handed the nomination after Biden’s ‘coup.’” He highlighted the difference between her lack of primary victories and Biden’s considerable vote tally, asserting, “In all fairness to him, he got 14 million votes, while she got none.”
As the rally energized his supporters, Trump reiterated the need to rally behind a strong Republican platform and ensure a decisive victory in the upcoming election.
