Trump Puts Oprah In Her Place

Trump did not hold back.

Former President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Oprah Winfrey following her recent livestream event featuring Vice President Kamala Harris, his opponent in the upcoming 2024 election. The event, dubbed “United for America,” aimed to harness the support Harris has gained since President Joe Biden suspended his reelection campaign in July.

During the livestream, key topics included voter registration, middle-class economic relief, abortion rights, and gun violence. The event showcased contributions from notable celebrities like Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez, who joined Harris in highlighting the voices of everyday Americans during a 90-minute discussion broadcast from Michigan, a crucial state in the upcoming election.

In a response on Truth Social, Trump expressed disappointment with Winfrey, reflecting on their past collaboration. He recounted how she had invited him to participate in the final week of her iconic talk show, a moment he deemed a significant honor. However, he criticized her decision to support Harris, stating, “Watching her interview with a woman whose incompetence is harming our country, I couldn’t help but feel this isn’t the real Oprah.”

Trump asserted that Harris struggled to address pressing issues like inflation and border security, describing her performance as lacking. He remarked, “Kamala appeared confused and couldn’t respond to basic questions on inflation or our insecure borders—there’s no effective leadership here!”

While many of Trump’s supporters echoed his criticism, some offered their backing to Harris after the event. Polls suggest that Trump is viewed as more reliable on economic matters, but many voters consider Harris to be physically and mentally capable of serving as president.

As the election approaches, the contrasting narratives from both parties are expected to escalate, making every public appearance and event pivotal for securing voter support.
