The rumors are being put to bed once and for all.
On Friday, former President Donald Trump addressed the controversy surrounding far-right activist Laura Loomer via a Truth Social post. Trump made it clear that he does not endorse Loomer’s recent statements, though he did not pinpoint which specific comments he disagreed with. He emphasized that despite their disagreements, Loomer remains a “unaffiliated citizen and lifelong supporter” who, like many of his followers, is frustrated with the continuous attacks from the Radical Left.
In his post, Trump conveyed that, “I don’t agree with the statements she decided to make but, like the millions of americans who support me, she is sick of viewing the Radical Left Marxists and Fascists constantly attack and bash me, even as far as taking it to the point of doing anything in their power to stop their Political Opponent, ME!”
During a campaign event in California, Trump addressed questions about Loomer with a dismissive tone, suggesting that she brings a distinct “spirit” to his campaign. He remarked, “Loomer has been a supporter of me. She speaks highly of my campaign. I do not control Loomer; she is a free spirit.”
Loomer, who has been a vocal Trump supporter known for her controversial and inflammatory remarks, was seen accompanying Trump on his plane to the Philadelphia debate and at 9/11 memorial events. Despite her high-profile presence, she does not hold an official position within Trump’s campaign.
This association has sparked criticism from several Republican figures. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) expressed reservations about Loomer’s role, suggesting that her rhetoric is misaligned with the MAGA movement and the broader Republican base. Similarly, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) condemned Loomer’s recent racist remarks about Vice President Kamala Harris, calling them “abhorrent.” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) also criticized Loomer, describing her as a “crazy conspiracy theorist” and asserting that her actions could potentially harm Trump’s re-election prospects.
The criticism from these prominent Republicans highlights the challenges Trump faces in balancing his campaign dynamics and addressing the varied reactions from his support base.
