Kamala’s Authenticity Under Scrutiny

On Tuesday, CPAC Chair Matt Schlapp appeared on Newsmax and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for seemingly adopting former President Donald Trump’s policy stances. He argued that Harris’s shift in positions is undermining her credibility.

“Vice President Harris’s recent embrace of more moderate policies is not only a poor reflection on her, but it’s also angering the progressive wing of her party,” Schlapp remarked during his appearance on “Newsline.” He questioned Harris’s authenticity, asking, “Where is her integrity? Where is her genuine commitment to her principles?”

Schlapp highlighted what he sees as inconsistencies in Harris’s policies. He noted her past support for Black Lives Matter (BLM) contrasted with her current stance of aligning with pro-police sentiments. Additionally, he pointed out her support for fracking while simultaneously endorsing the Green New Deal, questioning how this aligns with the views of progressive leaders like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Furthermore, Schlapp criticized Harris for seemingly adopting policies from Trump’s agenda, such as her opposition to taxing tips and her endorsement of a border wall—positions previously championed by Trump. He suggested that these shifts make her appear as if she’s simply adjusting her stance to fit political convenience rather than standing firm on her beliefs.

He urged voters to consider whether they want a leader who appears to be a “flip-flopper,” someone who may be willing to say anything to win office rather than offering genuine, consistent leadership. Schlapp contrasted this with Donald Trump’s approach, emphasizing that Trump’s straightforward and consistent communication is a strength in a leader.

According to Schlapp, Harris’s frequent gaffes and lack of clear communication continue to erode her support, suggesting that her approach may be damaging her political standing rather than helping it.
