Pelosi’s hate for Trump is insane.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a prominent Democrat from California, recently voiced skepticism about former President Donald Trump’s participation in the upcoming presidential debate scheduled for Tuesday. In a candid interview at TribFest, Pelosi was asked for her advice to Trump regarding the debate. With a touch of humor, she alluded to a supposed closeness with Trump before questioning whether he would actually attend.
When pressed by the interviewer about whether she had insider knowledge, Pelosi responded sharply, “I know cowardice when I see it.” This comment reflects the longstanding and contentious relationship between Pelosi and Trump, which dates back to when Trump first assumed the presidency in 2017. Since then, Pelosi has often been a vocal critic of Trump’s policies and actions.
Despite Pelosi’s doubts, Trump has not officially indicated that he will skip the debate, which is set to be hosted by ABC News on September 10. Although Trump has criticized the network for perceived bias, his team has stood firm on not altering the debate rules previously agreed upon. During the debate negotiations, Trump’s team rejected proposed changes to the rules, including adjustments to the muting of microphones, which were sought by Vice President Kamala Harris after she was officially confirmed as the Democratic nominee.
Even though Pelosi stepped down from her role as House Speaker earlier this year, she continues to exert significant influence in Democratic circles. Her recent efforts include playing a pivotal role in pushing President Joe Biden to step aside as the Democratic candidate, highlighting her ongoing impact on the political landscape.
