Who Cares More About Americans: Trump or Harris?

Trump Humiliates The Harris Campaign

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’ team for what they describe as immature and petty online attacks against the former president. According to Axios, the digital team behind these attacks is based in Wilmington, Delaware—once responsible for promoting President Joe Biden before he stepped down as the Democratic nominee.

The content strategy, which had previously been formal and restrained under Biden, has taken a more aggressive and irreverent tone under Harris, according to Axios. Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, commented on this shift, saying, “The Kamala Harris campaign’s approach is not a serious political strategy; it’s more of a childish reaction to the reality that they have a weak candidate who struggles with authenticity.”

Cheung further criticized the use of emojis in the Harris campaign’s messages, calling it a sign of being out of touch with the serious issues facing Americans under the Harris-Biden administration.

This new, more confrontational approach was on display recently when Harris’ team began pushing for live microphones in the upcoming debate on September 10—a rule change from the agreements made during Biden’s campaign. To amplify their point, Harris’ team posted on social media using sound effects of squawking chickens and a plethora of chicken emojis layered over Trump’s speeches.

In response, Trump has indicated he is comfortable with the new debate format and remains undeterred by the online antics. He has a history of using nicknames to brand his political opponents, including “Comrade Kamala Harris,” “Sleepy Joe” Biden, “Crooked Hillary” Clinton, and “Broken Old Crow” for Senator Mitch McConnell.

Furthermore, after Biden’s departure, there was a noticeable shift in the Harris campaign’s digital strategy to appeal to a younger audience. The Harris TikTok account, @KamalaHQ, managed to achieve impressive engagement, doubling the play count of Biden’s account, despite Biden’s account having more posts over a longer period.

This shift in digital strategy and tone underscores the ongoing battle between the campaigns and the differing approaches they take to engage voters.
